{"id":211483,"date":"2026-06-04T14:12:22","date_gmt":"2026-06-04T12:12:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/serbiantimes.info\/en\/?p=211483"},"modified":"2026-06-04T14:16:10","modified_gmt":"2026-06-04T12:16:10","slug":"milic-questioned-again-claims-he-is-being-framed-i-left-35-minutes-before-the-crime-cameras-and-family-prove-it-and-i-am-still-in-custody","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/serbiantimes.info\/en\/milic-questioned-again-claims-he-is-being-framed-i-left-35-minutes-before-the-crime-cameras-and-family-prove-it-and-i-am-still-in-custody\/","title":{"rendered":"MILI\u0106 QUESTIONED AGAIN, CLAIMS HE IS BEING FRAMED: &#8220;I left 35 minutes before the crime, cameras and family prove it, and I am still in custody!&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Following the re-questioning of the former head of the Police Directorate for the city of Belgrade, Veselin Mili\u0107, the law firm &#8220;Vasiljevi\u0107 Legal&#8221; and his defense attorney, lawyer Nemanja Vasiljevi\u0107, delivered a statement to Tanjug in which they outlined the reasons for their public address, as well as Mili\u0107&#8217;s testimony given today at the Higher Public Prosecutor&#8217;s Office in Belgrade.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The statement pointed out that, three weeks after the initiation of criminal proceedings against Mili\u0107, they resolved to end the media silence which they had, as stated, considered appropriate for this stage of the criminal proceedings out of strictly professional reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, as further claimed in the statement, even after three weeks since the initiation of the criminal proceedings, not a single piece of evidence has been presented that links Mili\u0107 to the serious and untruthful accusations set forth in the order to conduct an investigation and the criminal complaint of the UKP (Criminal Police Directorate), and Mili\u0107 still remains in custody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because of this, they believe it is necessary to acquaint the public with the truth, and they have, as they state, transmitted in its integral form a part of Mili\u0107&#8217;s testimony given today to the Higher Public Prosecutor&#8217;s Office in Belgrade, which we report in its entirety:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;I note that immediately on the morning of May 13, I informed the UKP PU for the city of Belgrade about all findings, about which I also drew up an official note, all with the aim of determining the real facts and reaching the truth. In the UKP, I requested polygraph testing for both myself and the police officers assigned to my official security. In the best of intentions, I presented everything I found out to the police officers, I presented the truth, but they were obviously not interested in that truth. The police officers participating in this persecution and framing of me have very maliciously and perfidiously misled both this prosecutor&#8217;s office and the state, as well as the MUP and the public, where I am presented as a monster, without a single piece of evidence. Maliciously and manipulatively toward me, and toward you, they wrote absolute untruths, which you yourselves could be convinced of after three weeks that I have been in custody. Very naively, I responded to the call and came with the truth to both my colleagues and to you. By the VJT, in the proposal for ordering my detention and to my colleagues, only data from the criminal complaint were copied without reviewing a single piece of evidence that even the acting police officers in the UKP themselves presented in front of my defense attorney that they had at the time. Back then, they stated that in the restaurant there were, as they themselves said, whores, so I did not know which persons were in question, which speaks about the attitude of those police officers toward witnesses, and toward me. They told us that they had processed the cameras from my building, the cameras around the restaurant, around the building of the late Ne\u0161ovi\u0107, on the movement route of me and the other persons. They told us that they found some phone in a dumpster, that base stations were completed, and the conversation was completely informal, where I came to share my findings in a completely naive and honest relationship. To the prosecutor&#8217;s office, I assume, those pieces of evidence that had been obtained by then were not submitted along with the criminal complaint. Data from the detention proposal leaked into the media, where for days shows were made about me as a monster, deprived of any opportunity for defense. Even though both my colleagues and I, with the findings we had, presented and answered all questions in the hope that the real facts pointing to the actual factual state would be determined and reached as soon as possible. It has been established, as far as I am aware, that we left the restaurant about 35 minutes before the murder, that I came home, which my wife and older daughter can confirm, as well as the cameras from the building and apartment. I am still in custody, naively believing that evidence would mean something.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier today, as announced by the Higher Public Prosecutor&#8217;s Office in Belgrade, Mili\u0107 was questioned again regarding the circumstances of committing the criminal offenses of failure to report a criminal offense and the perpetrator, and assisting the perpetrator after the commission of a criminal offense, in relation to new evidence collected during the investigation. He is covered by the order on conducting an investigation led against 10 more persons regarding the criminal offense of aggravated murder committed to the detriment of A.N. in the restaurant &#8220;27&#8221; on May 12, 2026, because grounds for suspicion exist that, as the head of the Police Directorate for the city of Belgrade, he did not report the commission of a criminal offense even though he had knowledge of the commission of the same.
