The senior selection of Serbia, with eight medals won at the Euro Cup in Sarajevo, confirmed its quality, even though they stepped onto the tatami with younger forces, so in competition with 21 national teams, they took fourth place, behind the most successful Turkey, second-placed Croatia, and Russia in third position.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the second competition day, just like 24 hours earlier, the representatives of Serbia won four medals. Today we won two silver and two bronze medals each. Silver medals were won by Anja Jovanovi\u0107 (up to 52 kg) and Sara Joci\u0107 (up to 57 kg), while bronze was claimed by Ana \u010cobanovi\u0107 (up to 57 kg) and Andrija Sto\u0161i\u0107 (+100 kg).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anja Jovanovi\u0107 was defeated in the final by Tihea Topolovec from Croatia, with a hold for an ippon after 48 seconds of the match. Anja had three fights and two victories in Sarajevo, over the representative of the Netherlands Maira Medema and the Frenchwoman Julie Weill Dit Morey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sara Joci\u0107 was defeated in the final by Dora Bortas from Croatia after just 43 seconds of fighting, by her rival’s hold for an ippon. Sara had a total of four fights in Sarajevo and recorded three victories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ana \u010cobnovi\u0107 defeated Slovenian Ma\u0161a Slavinec in the duel for bronze with a hold for an ippon after 3:13 minutes. In total, she had four matches and recorded three victories. She suffered her only defeat in the first fight of the tournament against Turkish Ajsenur Budak, by her rival’s hold for an ippon after 3:35 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andrija Sto\u0161i\u0107 won the bronze by defeating J\u00e1nos Balogh from Hungary with a hold for an ippon after 1:19 minutes of fighting. Andrija had four matches, and he suffered his only defeat in the semifinals against Aleksandr Shalimov from Russia, by his rival’s hold for an ippon after 2:20 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the first competition day in the category over 78 kg, the gold medal for Serbia was won by Sara Mari\u0107, and Anastasija Bogdanovi\u0107 won the silver. Matija Jeremi\u0107 (up to 66 kg) also won silver, and Marko Lojani\u010di\u0107 (up to 73 kg) won bronze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seventh place yesterday was won by Milica Latkovi\u0107 in the category up to 70 kg, and today the same position was won by Nikolina Ni\u0161avi\u0107 (up to 57 kg). At the tournament in Sarajevo, 19 judokas defended the colors of Serbia, 11 in the men’s and eight in the women’s competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
