The outdoor season for our Angelina Topi\u0107 opened at the Diamond League meeting in Rabat, where she took third place in the high jump discipline. It is interesting that she withdrew without a knockdown at 1.97, and we did not see that moment in the broadcast.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After preparations in Izmir, and then in Serbia, the Serbian heroine came to Morocco to compete in a hellish competition. Almost all the main competitors from major competitions were there, with the notable exception of Nicola Olyslagers, so the competition was not relaxing at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Angelina joined at a height of 1.83 meters, which she often skips, but her father and coach Dragutin Topi\u0107 and she did not want to leave anything to chance. She was successful from the first attempt both then and at 1.87 meters, and then the knockdowns followed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First, she did it twice at 1.91, so she comfortably cleared it from the third attempt, with plenty of room, and then at 1.94 she did the same! She proved once again this time that she is very often at her best under pressure, as she cleared it once more after two knockdowns and secured a placement among the top three.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After that, Angelina Topi\u0107 withdrew without an attempt, that is, a knockdown at 1.97 meters and decided that she had done enough at the competition in Rabat to start the campaign. It is probably also a tactical decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First place was taken by the world record holder Yaroslava Mahuchikh from Ukraine with 1.97, while Eleanor Patterson also stopped at 1.94, but she cleared that height from the first attempt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a reminder, during the winter campaign, Angelina Topi\u0107 became the world vice-champion in Toru\u0144, and she also improved the national record to 2.00.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yuliya Levchenko from Ukraine took fourth place with 1.91, while Lamara Distin from Jamaica and Charity Hufnagel from the USA sealed the fifth and sixth positions with the same height.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Points were also won by Russian Elena Kulichenko, who defends the colors of Cyprus, as well as Maria \u017bodzik from Poland with 1.83. Left without points were American Vashti Cunningham and Imke Onnen from Germany, who took ninth and tenth place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
