The Appellate Chamber of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) acquitted Ramiz Durakovi\u0107, former commander of the 43rd Brigade of the Army of BiH, of charges of war crimes against Serbian civilians in the \u010cajni\u010de area.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Durakovi\u0107’s first-instance verdict was passed for the murder of Darinka Pijevi\u0107 and the burning of the houses of Rajko and Milo\u0161 Pijevi\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The acquittal of Ramiz Durakovi\u0107 of charges of war crimes against Serbian civilians in the \u010cajni\u010de area is outside the domain of law, and the Court of BiH closes the possibility for re-prosecution,” said Milorad Koji\u0107, a member of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Koji\u0107 believes that the judges who made the decision in the Appellate Chamber of the Court of BiH “have neither shame nor disgrace.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Imagine that judge who explains that it is indisputable that the crimes occurred, that the accused managed the operation in which those crimes were committed, but that there is not enough argumentation that he had knowledge,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to him, since its establishment, the Court of BiH “has put itself in a position to absolve everyone who committed a crime against Serbs and in that way legally closes any possibility for re-prosecution before that or any other court.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This is simply an incredible extra-legal practice carried out by the Court of BiH and a repeated terror over the victims and the injured parties,” Koji\u0107 concluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
