An incendiary device, a so-called Molotov cocktail, was thrown at a well-known catering establishment in the Belgrade neighborhood of Vra\u010dar tonight around two o’clock after midnight, “Telegraf.rs” learns.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Telegraf’s information, an unknown person approached the premises, activated the flammable mixture and threw it at the establishment, after which the flames engulfed a part of the interior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Firefighting teams arrived at the scene immediately, localized and extinguished the fire, preventing the flames from spreading to surrounding buildings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident, but significant material damage was caused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to this media outlet, the establishment is owned by Vuk Bajru\u0161evi\u0107, who just a few months ago was targeted by an armed attacker in the same establishment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The police conducted an investigation, footage from security cameras that recorded the attacker was seized, and an investigation into the motive for this attack is ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who is Vuk Bajru\u0161evi\u0107?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Vuk Bajru\u0161evi\u0107 (51) is a Belgrade caterer and businessman, known to the wider public since the 2000s as the first kidnapping victim of the notorious Zemun clan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is the brother of Bojana Bajru\u0161evi\u0107, the widow of Mihalj Kertes (former director of the Federal Customs Administration and a close associate of Slobodan Milo\u0161evi\u0107). Precisely because of the wealth and luxury car fleet of the Bajru\u0161evi\u0107 family, the leaders of the Zemun clan \u2013 Du\u0161an Spasojevi\u0107 \u0160iptar and Mile Lukovi\u0107 Kum \u2013 in collusion with Milorad Ulemek Legija, targeted Vuk for kidnapping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Zemun Clan Kidnapping<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Bajru\u0161evi\u0107 was kidnapped on November 6, 2000, in front of his mother’s building on Banovo Brdo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The kidnappers taped his eyes and ears with duct tape and kept him chained at three different locations for a full 20 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Zemun clan members initially demanded an astronomical 5 million German marks. His sister Bojana negotiated with the clan and eventually managed to lower the price to 1.5 million marks. After the money was paid, Vuk was released alive on November 27 near the flea market in New Belgrade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the kidnapping, Bojana sought help from Legija himself (then commander of the JSO), not knowing that he was actually the mastermind behind the entire operation and that his security was passing information to the Zemun clan members the whole time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vuk Bajru\u0161evi\u0107 also found himself behind bars. He was once arrested and sentenced to one year in prison for an attempted extortion of 850,000 euros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shooting in Vra\u010dar<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In December last year, Bajru\u0161evi\u0107 survived a classic mafia warning when he was shot in his cafe in Vra\u010dar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Around noon, while there were guests and even children in the establishment, a younger man with a hood, masked with a cap and a scarf, walked into the cafe. He approached the bar where Bajru\u0161evi\u0107 was sitting in his usual place and fired three shots from a pistol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bajru\u0161evi\u0107 was hit by two bullets in the legs (one shot hit him directly, and the other grazed him). The attacker fled on foot in the direction of Mile\u0161evska Street, and the police then launched operation “Vihor”. Bajru\u0161evi\u0107 was transported to the Emergency Center in a conscious and stable condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
