The German police have been unsuccessfully searching for Ismet K. (51), a businessman from BiH, for two weeks already, who was kidnapped by unknown perpetrators on a forest road near the Berlin neighborhood of Waidmannslust.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since then, there has been no trace of him, which is why the police and the prosecutor’s office have been forced to seek public assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As confirmed by the spokesperson of the Berlin Prosecutor’s Office, State Prosecutor Michael Pezold, “on April 23 at 11:15 a.m., the businessman was forced into a white van, a transporter, by currently unknown men, likely with the use of force, and driven away. Since then, every trace of him has been lost.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Investigators cannot say whether Ismet K. is still alive. Pezold stated that so far there has been no contact from the kidnappers with the family of the kidnapped man or with people from his surroundings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The police and the prosecutor’s office do not rule out the possibility of a serious criminal offense. Because of this, the investigation has been taken over by the 3rd Homicide Commission of the Berlin Criminal Police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An intersection in northern Berlin was cited as the place of the kidnapping. Pezold did not want to comment on whether there were threats or demands for money prior to the kidnapping due to the investigation, but added:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Investigative data indicate that a financial motive is not excluded.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As there has been no trace of Ismet for two weeks already, the police turned to the public today, seeking witnesses who can provide information about his whereabouts or who saw the kidnapping on April 23 at Wolfacher Pfad in Waidmannslust. They added that everything allegedly happened near house number 3 when a white van stopped, and unknown perpetrators forcibly threw the BiH citizen inside, closed the doors, and drove him in an unknown direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
