President of Serbia Aleksandar Vu\u010di\u0107, in an op-ed for “Kurir,” emphasized that it is necessary to make brave and important decisions in the coming period.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Vu\u010di\u0107 presented a five-point plan for Serbia. In the op-ed for Kurir, Vu\u010di\u0107 states that by changing ourselves, we change the future which, as he says, we determine through work and by changing our habits and behavior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He conveys that Serbia needs decisive and serious reforms, which can be brought about by serious and responsible people, and not, as he notes, by revolutionary jumping around and fooling around in difficult times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, he believes it is necessary to make the following brave and important decisions in the upcoming period:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. A drastic reduction in the number of Government members, state secretaries, assistant ministers, as well as their apparatuses. More decisively and strongly than 12 years ago, it is necessary to abolish numerous agencies, offices, and directorates that are an end in themselves, where no essential reason for their existence exists. Also, it is necessary to approach additional deregulation, for which only we are responsible, such as the unnecessary certification of goods coming from the European Union, which causes those products to have a higher price in Serbia than in the Union.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Increasing productivity and more work and commitment. We will have to work more, not less. I am sorry that I have to say this because I know how unpopular it is, but someone has to communicate this to the people. For months, a dialogue has been held about abolishing working days and hours, claiming that motivation will be higher if we shorten working hours, and that we will travel and live much more beautifully than today. That will not happen. We will work more. I will start with myself and show that it is possible, and I will demand it from everyone else as well. Germany, as the engine of Europe, in order to withstand the industrial-technological race with China and America, will increase working hours and days. Serbia must not and cannot accept irresponsible ideas about shortening working hours.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. A brave and strong change of the complete educational system of Serbia. This means greater openness toward the world, especially at the level of colleges and universities, but also the acceptance, without hesitation and without pandering to anyone, of the dual educational system, whereby preparing young people for the labor market is of crucial importance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. A comprehensive approach to solving all energy issues and problems, including the use of nuclear energy. For decades we did not have new energy facilities; we built a lot, but almost everything out of necessity and pressured by external wars and sanctions. Even today, we plan the construction of numerous oil pipelines, gas pipelines, interconnectors, hydroelectric power plants, wind farms, and solar power plants, but all of that will not be enough for the energy stability of Serbia without the construction of small and large nuclear facilities within it. The cleanest and safest energy. Providing the knowledge and money for ventures in this field will be the greatest challenge for the future government, just like the management of ore wealth, raw materials, minerals, and rare metals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Aggressive adoption of knowledge and its application in robotics, artificial intelligence, and modern technologies. The further purchase of supercomputers and the construction of data centers must not be interrupted due to a lack of electrical energy. Data centers are the most important factories, the ones that create intelligence, and that is one of the things that will make the difference in our, Serbian favor compared to the region.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
