The attacker was arrested and brought before an investigating judge in Polygyros, and according to unofficial information, it is a person who has previously had serious psychological problems.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a report by the Greek national television ERT, the suspect claimed before the court that he felt threatened and that he was allegedly &#8220;attacked by Russians,&#8221; and that he used a knife to defend his brother. The attacker inflicted knife wounds on the elderly married couple, while he physically assaulted the 40-year-old. Immediately after the incident, the injured tourists were cared for at the hospital in Polygyros, from which they have since been released for home treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the hearing which concluded on Tuesday, the prosecutor and the investigating judge agreed to order the suspect into detention. At the same time, the defense&#8217;s request for a psychiatric evaluation was accepted, which is why the man was sent to the hospital in Polygyros for the necessary examinations, while a supplementary evaluation is scheduled for Thursday.
