A group of alumni from the prestigious American universities Harvard University and Stanford University visited the Donja Gradina Memorial Area, where they learned about the suffering of the Serbian, Jewish, and Roma people in the Jasenovac camp system and paid tribute to the victims.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the visit, the advisor to the president of Republika Srpska, Marko Romi\u0107, acquainted the guests with the historical significance of this place and the events that took place there, emphasizing that the memory of the victims is the foundation of the identity of Republika Srpska and an important part of preserving historical truth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Romi\u0107 explained the broader context of the suffering in the Second World War to the American alumni and pointed out the significance of Donja Gradina as one of the largest execution sites in the Balkan region. During the tour, the guests expressed their respect for the victims and highlighted the importance of facing difficult chapters of European history, noting that such visits contribute to a better understanding of the past and the preservation of the culture of remembrance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
