Members of the police in Berane arrested a man S.I. (36) on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of human trafficking to the detriment of his daughter, with the aim of obtaining illegal property benefits.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Acting on operational information that an 18-year-old female person from Berane was prevented from going to school, and that there is a suspicion that she could be a victim of human trafficking, police officers found the mentioned person and brought her to the official premises of the Berane Security Department \u2013 it was announced by the UP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the presence of officials from the Center for Social Work, information was collected from the victim, during which she stated that her father kept her locked in a room for several days, during which she suffered psychological and physical violence, with the aim of forcing her into a marriage that, as suspected, her father had arranged in advance with an unknown person from abroad for a monetary amount of 20,000 euros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Medical assistance was provided to the victim at the Clinical-Hospital Center Berane, after which she was taken care of and placed in a safe location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police officers then found S.I. (36), brought him to the official premises and collected information from him, after which, by order of the state prosecutor in the High State Prosecutor’s Office in Bijelo Polje, he was deprived of liberty on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of human trafficking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
