In Jagodina, a boy is growing up who has merged tradition and modern social networks in an unusual way \u2013 by crocheting carpets that have made him an internet sensation. Viktor Mitic, a fifth-grade student, has gained more than 230,000 followers on social networks thanks to his extraordinary hobby and his persistence that every new “loop” follows the growth of his community on Instagram.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an interview with Euronews Serbia, Viktor revealed that he learned crocheting from his grandmother, and that over time, with the help of the internet and his own curiosity, he perfected the technique and decided to present his work to the public. Although he encountered misunderstandings from his surroundings at the beginning, today he says he has increasing support from friends, teachers, and family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“My ordinary day used to be school, then homework and play. Now I crochet first, then I do the rest,” Viktor said, adding that school still remains his priority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
