This morning around 10 a.m. in the office of the Municipal President of Kosjeri\u0107, \u017darko \u0110oki\u0107, Zoran Jovanovi\u0107 Limar was beaten, a fellow citizen who came to ask when his street, from which the asphalt was removed last year before the local elections, would be finished. That street has still not been completed because the Progressives lost convincingly.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Zoran\u2019s wife, Dragica, told Ozonpress, Zoran was urgently transferred to the U\u017eice General Hospital due to the injuries sustained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cZoran went to the office of the municipal president to inquire about when our street, which has been dug up since last year and where living conditions are difficult, would be done. He spoke with the president who told him the street would be finished by the end of the year. At that moment, the municipal president\u2019s bodyguard, Slobodan \u0110uki\u0107, entered, stood at the door, and told \u0110oki\u0107 to keep him in the office,” she said, adding that at the moment Zoran tried to leave, he received four punches to the head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“He lost consciousness and fell to the floor. When he regained consciousness, he saw the municipal president over him, but \u0110uki\u0107 struck him once more over the municipal president. He has an injury, a jaw fracture, and is dizzy, which is why he was sent to the U\u017eice General Hospital,\u201d Dragica says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0110uki\u0107 did not stop there, she adds, as he issued a series of threats to Jovanovi\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We gave a statement to the police, and now let\u2019s see how the prosecution will react, whether they will be as efficient as when they arrested our children throughout Kosjeri\u0107 just for shouting at regime journalists, and that terror is still ongoing,\u201c Dragica says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Protest due to the beating of the activist<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The united opposition in Kosjeri\u0107 has scheduled a protest for today at 5 p.m. in front of the police station after, as they state, their fellow citizen Zoran Jovanovi\u0107 Limar was beaten in the office of the Municipal President, \u017darko \u0110oki\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On this occasion, the Citizens’ Group “Clean People” spoke out, announcing a protest in that town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Today, in the office of the Municipal President \u017darko \u0110oki\u0107, Zoran Jovanovi\u0107, better known as Limar, was brutally physically attacked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Slobodan \u0110uki\u0107 assaulted him in the sight of five or six people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0110uki\u0107 attacked Jovanovi\u0107 from behind and dealt him four to five blows, with open threats that ‘everyone will end up like that’ and that he will come to everyone’s house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zoran sustained serious injuries, severe lacerations, injuries in the jaw area, and a concussion, after which he was urgently sent to the hospital in U\u017eice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We publicly ask Police Chief Golubovi\u0107:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How much more violence needs to happen before you react? How many more people need to be beaten for the law to apply to everyone?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Or are there people in this municipality who can beat, threaten, and destroy lives without any consequences?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The citizens see this. And they will remember. We expect the immediate arrest of Slobodan \u0110uki\u0107 and invite you all to gather at 5 p.m. in front of the police station in Kosjeri\u0107,” the statement reads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
