Members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the District Prison in Belgrade, who set out on a humanitarian pilgrimage to the Ostrog monastery on March 23, crossed the border into Montenegro and were welcomed brotherly and cordially in Zabljak. Radovan \u010cepi\u0107 from the Durmitor village of Uskoci gave them his house where they stayed overnight.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

-It was an honor for me to be able to host these great guys and to contribute in at least some way to their noble feat. I admire their strength and will; the weather conditions across Durmitor have been truly harsh these days, and therefore their sacrifice is even greater, and the feat larger, Radovan told RINA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The brave pilgrims were also received in his office by the President of the Municipal Assembly of Zabljak, Ivan Popovi\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-I received these people as brothers and comrades in humanity. Their journey is a reminder to all of us that the limits of endurance do not exist when love for a child guides us. Zabljak will always be a safe station and support to everyone who sets out on the path of charity. I wish our guests clear skies and a light step to their final goal under the Ostrog cliffs, said Popovi\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a reminder, the goal of this feat is to collect financial resources for the treatment of four-year-old Sofija Lakovi\u0107 from Belgrade, who suffers from cerebral palsy, and five-year-old Fe\u0111a Alkovi\u0107 from Podgorica, who is being treated for a brain tumor. Milo\u0161 Lakovi\u0107, little Sofija’s father, joined the pilgrims on the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pilgrimage lasts 13 days, and the participants cover between 35 and 40 kilometers daily, with certain sections up to 47 kilometers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-We set out from Belgrade on March 23 on this journey with the goal of collecting financial resources. The path is strenuous, there are injuries, blisters, and swelling, but we are not giving up, said Nikola Milovanovi\u0107, a member of the Intervention Unit 92 for the City of Belgrade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A nine-member group, including members of the SAJ, Intervention Unit 92, and the District Prison, is walking from Belgrade to Ostrog on a humanitarian pilgrimage. With the blessing of Patriarch Porfirije, they plan to provide funds for treatment in this manner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
