The Embassy of Croatia in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) sent a protest note to the authorities of BiH due to an attack on the Croatian consul in Banja Luka.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As announced by the Embassy, the diplomat was physically attacked by a large group of unknown persons, accompanied by insults on a national basis, on the evening of March 29, in the center of Banja Luka, BiH media reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The statement emphasizes that an urgent and thorough investigation, identification of the perpetrators, and their adequate punishment are expected, along with a clear condemnation of the criminal act committed out of hatred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Consul General of Croatia in Banja Luka, Zoran Pilicic, stated for RTV Herceg-Bosna that the first-class consul and his brother were physically attacked and that the attackers insulted them and called them Ustashas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that there were no serious physical injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Vice President of the Republika Srpska (RS) from the ranks of the Croatian people, Davor Pranjic, announced on Facebook that he most strongly condemns every form of violence, “especially attacks on diplomatic representatives.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The attacks were also condemned by Banja Luka Mayor Drasko Stanivukovic, saying that such incidents are not acceptable and must not be part of everyday life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stanivukovic called on the authorities to urgently investigate the incident and sanction the perpetrators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
