At the session of the National Security Council at the Palace \u201cSerbia,\u201d President Aleksandar Vu\u010di\u0107 and all members of the National Security Council relevant to the energy sector are in attendance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the analysis of the situation at the session, the focus was primarily on energy security, as well as threats of terrorism and the conduct of cyber warfare against Serbia, as highlighted by Vu\u010di\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe most important issue is energy security. I want to say that we may have some painful measures, we will present them through a table. We are interested in the level of the quotation amount, and today under normal excise duties, without the 20 percent we have already reduced, as of 3 p.m. today the price of diesel should be 257 dinars, while at the pumps it is 208 dinars,\u201d said Vu\u010di\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He presented the measures in a table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe reduction of excise duties is the first measure. Citizens should know that we collect around two billion euros from excise duties on oil, the largest excise revenue for our country. From that we finance roads, schools, and pay salaries. When we say we will reduce them, we have the legal right to reduce them by 20 percent, but we found in the law that we can reduce them even further. I want you to see what the state will do, and it can do so only if there are significant financial buffers, which we have,\u201d Vu\u010di\u0107 explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Today, the price of diesel should be 257 dinars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWith our reduction, we brought it down to 208 dinars. Today we will reduce it by another 40 percent, we will almost give up our revenues and maintain them, unless oil reaches 200. However, that cannot be the only measure, so we also went with 40,000 tons from reserves. In order to reduce the impact on the state budget and to make the excise reduction smaller, since no one but the state will pay anything. We are ready to take the risk upon ourselves and to provide oil companies with fuel at 180 dinars, so they can make profits and so that small pumps in villages can operate, because we have enough diesel, gasoline, everything! There is no panic, do not worry, there is enough of everything,\u201d said Vu\u010di\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The state will import everything it can.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cToday the price of diesel is 212 dinars, while it would realistically be 257 dinars, considering quotation prices, but the state is covering all of that. We have the capacity for that for three, even up to six months. And all of that without using foreign exchange reserves. We may also have a problem with the balance of payments deficit with foreign countries, but we do not see other problems.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Regarding measures for farmers, he said that for them the price will be 171 dinars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThat is a huge gift to farmers, which will be implemented through subsidies.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If the catastrophic global price remains until the end of the year, there would be a 1.3 billion euro deficit in the budget, he emphasized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe can endure for two months.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhen there is no crisis, we prepare for a crisis,\u201d said Vu\u010di\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOur gas reserves are 587.5 million cubic meters, of which 146 million are stored in Hungary, and 441 million are here. Oil reserves are: diesel 508,436 tons, gasoline 120,972, fuel oil 90,000, we have kerosene for 58 days, and all of that without military reserves. And those are completely full.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The biggest shortage is fertilizers, he emphasized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe have enough wheat, in citizens\u2019 silos and in our reserves, 77,538 tons of corn, we have rice and oil even if we buy and produce nothing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Those who lost the right to child allowance in January 2026 will have it restored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDue to the increase in labor costs, they lost that right, but now we are restoring everything to them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We remind that the emergency session of the National Security Council on the current situation with energy resources is being held at the Palace \u201cSerbia.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
