The Ministry of Health announced today that the return of healthcare workers to Serbia continues, and that through the Office for Cooperation with the Diaspora, another 14 medical professionals have returned to our country and will continue working here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As stated in the announcement, these are experts who gained their knowledge and experience in Germany, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United States of America, the Czech Republic and Slovenia, and who have decided to return and contribute to strengthening healthcare in Serbia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From the United States of America, Dr. Aleksandra Jovanovi\u0107 and Jelena Miti\u0107 are coming to the Ni\u0161 Health Center, while medical technician Zoran Antonijevi\u0107 is returning from the Czech Republic to the Health Center Gnjilane. A married couple of medical technicians, Dragana and Bojan Miladinovi\u0107, are coming from Germany to the Health Center Prokuplje. From Germany, nurse Aleksandra Radevi\u0107 \u010cavi\u0107 is coming to the University Clinical Center of Serbia, while a married couple, Branka and Miroslav Sudar, are returning from Slovenia, who will work at the Institute for Early Development and the Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases \u201cDedinje,\u201d respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among those who have returned are also medical technician Ado Begovi\u0107 and Dr. Mirsad Zorni\u0107, who after Germany and Saudi Arabia are coming to the General Hospital Novi Pazar, while physiotherapist Marko Rajevi\u0107, after working in Kuwait, will work at KBC \u201cDr Dragi\u0161a Mi\u0161ovi\u0107.\u201d Nurse Bojana Cvetkovi\u0107 is returning from Slovenia to the General Hospital Jagodina, where nurse Sonja Adamovi\u0107, who is returning from Germany, will also work. Nurse Mihrija Skrijelj is also coming from Germany and will work at the Tutin Health Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the Ministry of Health, more than 300 healthcare workers have returned so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Minister of Health Zlatibor Lon\u010dar stated that the return of healthcare workers is one of the most important indicators of a responsible and development-oriented state policy in the field of healthcare, because alongside investments in healthcare infrastructure, the construction of hospitals, procurement of equipment and digitalization, special emphasis is placed on strengthening human resources in healthcare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSerbia today is not a country people leave, but a country they return to. All those doctors, nurses and technicians who left when specializations were being abolished, when hospitals were not being built, when medical workers\u2019 salaries were below any level, are now returning to the country in large numbers. They are returning because they have recognized that Serbia\u2019s healthcare system is developing strongly, that working conditions are improving, and that they can build a secure professional and family future here. We will continue to invest in people, because they are the greatest strength of our healthcare system,\u201d Lon\u010dar emphasized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
