The Director of the United States National Counterterrorism Center, Joe Kent, has resigned, stating that he cannot support the war against Iran, which, he claims, does not pose an immediate threat to U.S. security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his resignation letter addressed to U.S. President Donald Trump, Kent said he made the decision after \u201clong reflection,\u201d emphasizing that he can no longer \u201cin good conscience\u201d support Washington\u2019s current policy toward Tehran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIran did not pose an immediate threat to our country, and it is clear that this war was launched under pressure from Israel and its strong lobby in the United States,\u201d Kent stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
