This week, a significant gathering of business leaders and community representatives originating from Serbia, the Balkans and America was held in the U.S. state of Michigan, who stood behind the campaign of congressional candidate Michael Bouchard. The host of the event was well-known Serbian businessman Goran Petkovi\u0107, and the topics of discussion at his villa not far from Detroit were focused on economic growth, innovation and civic engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bouchard, a National Guard captain with more than ten years of service in uniform, including a mission in Iraq, recently launched his campaign for Congress at a time when Republicans are seeking to maintain their majority in the U.S. House of Representatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Coming from a family with a strong tradition of public service \u2014 his father is a long-serving county sheriff, and his grandfather also served in uniform \u2014 Bouchard built his campaign around support for small businesses, border security, legal immigration connected with economic growth and the integrity of the electoral process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Serbian-American businessman Goran Petkovi\u0107, who has long been active in the transportation business and has recently begun producing organic food in Serbia, which he exports to America, hosted respected guests in partnership with the MENA American Chamber of Commerce and its executive director Faye Nemer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
