In Antifa\u0161isti\u010dke borbe Street in New Belgrade, a serious traffic accident occurred around 9 a.m., Euronews Serbia learns.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A truck was moving backward and knocked down an elderly female person, aged between 70 and 80.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emergency services confirmed the death of the female person; the investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The accident in New Belgrade occurred on a path leading through a park in one of the residential blocks, and the driver, unfortunately, killed the unlucky woman on the spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the police conducted the investigation, shaken residents of surrounding buildings gathered at the scene of the tragedy in anger. As they claim, they had been warning about the danger for months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-This is terrible, this place is a ticking time bomb! Trucks pass through the pedestrian zone daily, right next to the benches where children and pensioners sit. Today a grandmother perished, tomorrow it could have been a child – said one of the residents of a nearby block.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to eyewitnesses, freight vehicles regularly use the park as a shortcut or an improvised zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-The paths in the park are not designed for trucks! They enter at any time of day, drive fast, and do not look to see if anyone is walking. When starting in reverse, the driver has no visibility. A second of carelessness is enough – says an upset neighbor of the deceased woman for Kurir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Residents claim they have repeatedly warned about the problem of arrogant drivers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
