Farmer and dairyman Milo\u0161 Sretovi\u0107 (35) from the village of Milo\u010daj near Kraljevo, otherwise the father of four daughters, was left without the secure income he had every month from milk purchases, because the dairy he cooperated with canceled the purchase. He believes this has to do with posts on social networks about the milk purchase price, which he had been publishing in recent days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Milo\u0161 Sretovi\u0107 (35) from the village of Milo\u010daj near Kraljevo delivered between 40 and 45 liters of milk daily to a dairy in Kru\u0161evac, until the purchase was suddenly canceled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Allegedly, the dairy stated that it \u201ccan\u2019t break the truck because of him,\u201d since his house is somewhat farther away from other farmers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, Milo\u0161 says for Nova.rs that in recent days he had been publishing purchase prices on social networks, which may be the reason for this sudden termination of cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019m not sure it\u2019s because of that, but it\u2019s quite a coincidence that the cooperation was terminated just when I publicly posted the calculation showing that the milk price dropped to 35 dinars. But okay, we move on, what\u2019s done is done. I didn\u2019t know that dairies censor the posting of calculations, although even if I had known, I would have done the same, so it doesn\u2019t matter,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Modest and honest<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Milo\u0161 has three cows and three heifers. It\u2019s not much, but enough for him and his family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI have a wife, a mother, four daughters\u2026 Enough for us. Now I have less milk since some cows are pregnant, but still enough for us. When it became known that my purchase was canceled, people started contacting me to buy milk by the liter and everything I make from milk.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He doesn\u2019t beg anyone for anything, he says, adding that maybe it\u2019s good that everything turned out this way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI started selling milk in 2018 to one dairy, and only later switched to this one in Kru\u0161evac. Until then we sold milk like this, at home, by the liter, and we lacked nothing. This man may have done me a favor.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He points out that the role of farmers today is very difficult, and he blames the top of the state for that \u2013 President Aleksandar Vu\u010di\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe cause and source of all the problems faced by farmers and milk producers is Vu\u010di\u0107 and his SNS. I have no problem saying that. I haven\u2019t been saying this since yesterday, but for a decade or more. Ever since I was a teenager I\u2019ve been fighting against this scourge (the regime), and the best part of my life has passed in that fight. While the government is advancing, all branches of agriculture are regressing. Some small progress has been felt by regime associations and farmers who agreed to sell themselves. There is that too,\u201d he states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He emphasizes that he is neither the first nor the last whose milk purchase has been canceled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis will continue like this, you\u2019ll see. Farmers had the biggest chance for change in 2023. Then I said the only demand should be the resignation of Vu\u010di\u0107 and the SNS, and we\u2019ll easily deal with the conditions for farmers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Actively participates in protests<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Milo\u0161 does not hide that he actively participates in protests and blockades by farmers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maybe that, to some extent, also had an influence on this consequence he is now suffering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPolitics doesn\u2019t interest me according to my personal stance. Tomorrow I won\u2019t even be on the council of my village local community, that doesn\u2019t interest me. However, now, at this time, politics must interest everyone because what has been happening in recent decades is not good and not healthy. This is voluntary euthanasia, believe me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
About ten years ago, his family was exposed to great pressure and fear just because Milo\u0161 \u201cwas vocal.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThey stopped my mother in Kraljevo, threatened to break my legs and knees. I later found out the name of the person who threatened me, but I didn\u2019t have concrete evidence to be able to publicly say who it was. They offered me a job and money, but I can\u2019t, I\u2019m not that kind of person. The biggest problem is my mother, she\u2019s very scared. My wife is silent for now,\u201d he tells us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
