Tamang, originally from Nepal, emigrated to the United States about ten years ago and began his police career a year ago. Officer David M. Reed was seriously wounded in the shooting and is in stable condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chief McClure said that one of the officers returned fire, hitting the suspect, who sustained injuries that were not life-threatening.
