The President of the Constitutional Court, Vladan Petrov, stated that \u201cthe sanction for those judges who have violated the ban on political activity and who publicly declare themselves opponents of the current authorities\u2014many of whom, as if with its help, have advanced in their positions\u2014is dismissal.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis is a conflict of interest that must and can be sanctioned by the loss of judicial office. The only problem is that \u2018a crow does not peck out another crow\u2019s eyes.\u2019 Complementary to the principle of non-punishment is the habit of public non-confrontation,\u201d Petrov said in an interview for today\u2019s edition of the daily Politika<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He added that \u201cthe High Judicial Council, composed of \u2018pre-amendment\u2019 judges and \u2018post-amendment\u2019 prominent legal experts, has not become a sufficiently compact body with broader social authority to muster the strength to impose an individual sanction on a judge-politician.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
