Actress Catherine O\u2019Hara passed away on Friday, sources close to her family have confirmed. News of her death has resonated across the world, while the cause has not yet been officially announced, TMZ reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
O\u2019Hara leaves behind a rich, decades-long career. She became widely known to audiences as the mother of Kevin McCallister in the first two installments of the cult classic \u201cHome Alone,\u201d while a new generation of viewers embraced her through the role of the eccentric Moira Rose in the hit series \u201cSchitt\u2019s Creek,\u201d in which she appeared throughout all seasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During her career, she also delivered notable performances in numerous film projects, including the satirical films \u201cBest in Show\u201d and \u201cA Mighty Wind,\u201d as well as entries in the \u201cBeetlejuice\u201d franchise, including the original film and its sequel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her most recent television appearance was in the series \u201cThe Studio,\u201d aired on the Apple TV+ platform, where she starred alongside Seth Rogen. For that project, she received a nomination for the prestigious Emmy Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Throughout her career, Catherine O\u2019Hara earned multiple accolades, including an Emmy Award in 2020 for her role in \u201cSchitt\u2019s Creek,\u201d while her first Emmy recognition came back in the early 1980s for her writing work on the comedy show \u201cSCTV Network 90.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
