MEP Helmut Brandst\u00e4tter, one of those in the delegation of the European Parliament that arrived in Serbia to assess the current situation, told N1 that he advocates for the Serbian people to be part of the EU, but that with the autocratic regime of Aleksandar Vu\u010di\u0107, Serbia does not fit into the Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Commenting on yesterday\u2019s talks with representatives of the authorities, the opposition, the media, the academic community, students, and civil society, he stated that his most important impression is that they must return, because they did not have enough time for all the talks, and that numerous topics remain for consideration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOne of the more important things is that people said there is not one, but two Serbias that do not talk to each other; that is one of the bigger problems, and that is what both the opposition and the authorities told us,\u201d Brandst\u00e4tter told N1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also referred to reports in pro-regime media about the MEPs, where it was said that they should not come, that they are scum, which he assessed as bad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
