U.S. President Donald Trump said today at a press conference at the White House that the United States, despite having good relations with Denmark, will not abandon its intention to take over Greenland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAs you know, we have very good relations with Denmark, but we are building the Golden Dome, we are doing many things, and we really need it,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIf we don\u2019t get there, the problem is that Denmark will not be able to do anything if Russia or China want to occupy Greenland. I cannot rely on Denmark being able to defend itself, but we can do everything, as we have seen in Venezuela,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He stressed that taking over Greenland is necessary for both American and European national security and added that he had discussed the matter with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
