Stefan Ivanovi\u0107 (31), a young man from Ljig who lost his life in a fire that broke out on New Year\u2019s Eve in a bar in Crans-Montana, was buried today in his hometown of Jaj\u010di\u0107. On that day, by decision of the Municipality of Ljig, a Day of Mourning was declared as a sign of remembrance and respect for the young fellow citizen who lost his life too soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Flags on buildings of public institutions were lowered to half-mast, while cultural and entertainment events were canceled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Silence prevailed in the town and surrounding area, and an atmosphere of grief and disbelief could be felt at every step. Citizens spontaneously gathered in front of the Ivanovi\u0107 family home, leaving flowers and lighting candles, while near the house of the deceased young man an emergency medical team, as well as a police vehicle, were on duty the entire time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Stefan Ivanovi\u0107 was sent off to his final resting place in the presence of a large number of people\u2014family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, as well as citizens who may not have known him personally but wished to pay their last respects. The procession of people accompanying the coffin testified to how respected and loved Stefan was in his community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
