(PHOTO)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The MDC is one of the few detention centers in the United States with the capacity to hold high-security defendants<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President of Venezuela Nicol\u00e1s Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores arrived at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, New York, after being arrested during a U.S. military operation in Caracas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The couple was transported from Venezuela aboard the warship USS Iwo Jima and then flown to the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The detention status of Maduro\u2019s wife is still not known.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"452\" height=\"338\" src=\"http:\/\/serbiantimes.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/01\/Screenshot-2026-01-04-at-08.41.27.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-197191\" srcset=\"https:\/\/serbiantimes.info\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/01\/Screenshot-2026-01-04-at-08.41.27.png 452w, https:\/\/serbiantimes.info\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/01\/Screenshot-2026-01-04-at-08.41.27-300x224.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 452px) 100vw, 452px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The MDC is one of the few detention centers in the United States with the capacity to hold defendants requiring a high level of security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is known for housing other high-profile defendants such as Joaqu\u00edn \u201cEl Chapo\u201d Guzm\u00e1n, mafia leader Luigi Mangione, rapper Sean \u201cDiddy\u201d Combs, and Ghislaine Maxwell, the partner of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who is charged for her role in organizing the sexual abuse of minors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The indictment filed against Maduro and his family in the Southern District of New York charges him with conspiracy related to narco-terrorism, the importation of cocaine, as well as possession of weapons and explosives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-wp-embed is-provider-serbiantimes-info wp-block-embed-serbiantimes-info\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"tKLfddfPUR\"><a href=\"https:\/\/serbiantimes.info\/maduro-sleteo-u-njujork-kao-americki-zatvorenik-uzeti-mu-otisci-prstiju-on-i-supruga-bice-smesteni-u-najgori-zatvor-video\/\">MADURO SLETEO U NJUJORK KAO AMERI\u010cKI ZATVORENIK: Uzeti mu otisci prstiju, on i supruga bi\u0107e sme\u0161teni u najgori zatvor!
