The student initiative to call elections was visible on Sunday, December 28, in the program of Radio Television of Serbia for up to one minute, while the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vu\u010di\u0107, appeared for 23.5 minutes, the Bureau for Social Research (BIRODI) announced today based on a video analysis of the RTS program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vu\u010di\u0107 was presented directly, meaning he had the opportunity on the RTS program to personally present his views, BIRODI emphasized in its statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Radio Television of Serbia had a reporter from the celebration marking the removal of tents in front of the National Assembly of Serbia, at which, according to BIRODI, Aleksandar Vu\u010di\u0107, a member of the Serbian Progressive Party, spoke and was presented as the President of the Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In contrast to such reporting, in the Second and Third RTS News programs, RTS reported on the initiative of Students in Blockade to call parliamentary elections in an indirect manner, meaning without statements from the organizers or citizens who signed the initiative, and without information on the number of locations where the initiative could be signed, BIRODI emphasizes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The statement adds that false claims were presented in the program that this was an initiative also serving to measure electoral support for a student list in future elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bureau claims that with such reporting, RTS violated Article 50 of the Constitution of Serbia, which guarantees the right to truthful, complete, and timely information, as well as Article 4 of the Rulebook on the Protection of Human Rights in the Field of Media Services, which requires media service providers to report in a truthful, complete, and timely manner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
