{"id":196556,"date":"2025-12-27T18:06:52","date_gmt":"2025-12-27T16:06:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/serbiantimes.info\/en\/?p=196556"},"modified":"2025-12-27T18:06:54","modified_gmt":"2025-12-27T16:06:54","slug":"intimidation-and-political-pressures-judges-and-prosecutors-send-a-letter-to-european-institutions-here-is-the-reason","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/serbiantimes.info\/en\/intimidation-and-political-pressures-judges-and-prosecutors-send-a-letter-to-european-institutions-here-is-the-reason\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cINTIMIDATION AND POLITICAL PRESSURES\u201d: Judges and prosecutors send a letter to European institutions, here is the reason!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>An informal group of judges and prosecutors, \u201cDefense of the Profession,\u201d has addressed European institutions over political pressures and a series of other problems that, as they claim, affect the judiciary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe sent a letter to Members of the European Parliament, the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, the European Union (EU) Commissioner for Enlargement, the Venice Commission, and the Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia regarding the existence of serious risks to the independence of the judiciary and the autonomy of prosecutors\u2019 offices in Serbia, continuous political pressures, public attacks, and attempts to intimidate holders of judicial office, as well as normative and institutional solutions that represent a departure from constitutional guarantees and European standards,\u201d the group of judges and prosecutors stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDefense of the Profession\u201d claims that the formation of a new court in New Belgrade is unconstitutional<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDefense of the Profession\u201d notes that five judicial laws have also entered parliamentary procedure, proposed by Serbian Progressive Party MP Uglje\u0161a Mrdi\u0107, under an urgent procedure, and that they were not made available to the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-wp-embed is-provider-serbiantimes-info wp-block-embed-serbiantimes-info\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"F7UeV8Y0VR\"><a href=\"https:\/\/serbiantimes.info\/studenti-dizu-srbiju-na-noge-ovo-je-sve-sto-treba-da-znate-o-velikoj-akciji-prikupljanja-potpisa\/\">STUDENTI DI\u017dU SRBIJU NA NOGE: Ovo je sve \u0161to treba da znate o velikoj akciji prikupljanja potpisa!<\/a><\/blockquote><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute;
