(VIDEO)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Riding motorcycles\u2014but wearing New Year\u2019s hats and Santa Claus costumes\u2014bikers arrived in the courtyard of the University Clinical Center in Ni\u0161. Instead of the usual city noise, they were greeted by children\u2019s smiles. This charitable tradition has been going on for more than ten years, with the same goal every year\u2014to make life a little brighter, even for a moment, for children in the hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Milan Stojiljkovi\u0107 \u201cD\u017eoni,\u201d president of the motorcycle club <em>Road Guardian MC Ni\u0161<\/em>, said that club members brought more than 90 New Year\u2019s gift packages for the children this year as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFirst and foremost, we want the packages to go to the children in the Hemato-Oncology Department, but then we expand the initiative to other pediatric departments of the Clinical Center. We prepare the packages with the help of donations, and anyone who wants to participate can contact us,\u201d said Stojiljkovi\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added that the club has about 40 members, all of whom participate in preparing and distributing the packages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe all ride, and neither rain nor snow stops us. We don\u2019t have reindeer, just motorcycles. Our only motivation is children\u2019s smiles and their health. It would be great if there were no children in the hospital and we didn\u2019t have to come. Considering that there are more each year, it doesn\u2019t exactly make me happy, but we\u2019re always here to bring a smile,\u201d said Pani\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Children from the Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery Departments peeked eagerly through windows, and the sound of motorcycles and red costumes in the hospital courtyard was a true attraction for them. Doctors say that such joy often matters more than the therapy itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis year, the snow added to the New Year magic for our youngest patients. Together with our biker friends, who have been organizing this wonderful performance for six years, and with the choir from <em>Ratko Vuki\u0107evi\u0107<\/em> Elementary School, this is the least the University Clinical Center can do for our patients,\u201d said Goran Stanojevi\u0107, assistant director of UKC Ni\u0161.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. \u017divojin Spasi\u0107, director of the Pediatric Surgery Clinic, added that everyone at UKC hopes that in the new year there will be fewer children in the hospital, and that they will be healthier and happier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI hope that this wonderful gesture from our bikers helps make the hospital days easier for our young patients, both in the pediatric internal and surgical clinics. May they enter the New Year with more smiles on their faces,\u201d said the UKC staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Together, the bikers, the choir, and the medical staff brought the children the most valuable gift of all\u2014a feeling that they are not alone.
