The Serbian national team, under the auspices of the Serbian Association of Dance Organizations (SAPO), won ten medals at the World Dance Championship recently held in Belgium \u2013 four gold and four silver each, and two bronze. At this championship, which featured nearly 3,500 competitors from 35 countries across three continents, our country was represented by members of SAPO dance organizations, primarily from the clubs “Dance Factory” and RIS.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the twelfth consecutive year that the Serbian national team has brought home medals from the largest international competitions. This time, it was composed of 50 male and female dancers in all age groups \u2013 children, juniors, and seniors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The honors were won by \u2013 in the children’s competition, gold: Mila Popovi\u0107 \u2013 solo contemporary; Mila Popovi\u0107 and Petra Nenezi\u0107 \u2013 contemporary duo; group \u2013 contemporary, formation \u2013 contemporary. In the junior competition, two silvers \u2013 Lana Suboti\u0107 and Nera Gruj\u010di\u0107 \u2013 contemporary duo, Nata\u0161a Spremo and Na\u0111a Duki\u0107 \u2013 contemporary duo; and bronze: Vladislav \u0160ebek \u2013 solo contemporary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the senior competition, the best result \u2013 a silver medal \u2013 was achieved by Ma\u0161a Janju\u0161evi\u0107 (solo, contemporary). Serbian competitors achieved high rankings on several other occasions. Fourth place went to Antonina \u0106ur\u010di\u0107 (children, contemporary) in the solo competition and in a pair with Andrea Zekovi\u0107, as well as the juniors (contemporary formation); in fifth position was Nata\u0161a Spremo (solo, juniors), sixth \u2013 Nata\u0161a Spremo and Lucija Simovi\u0107 (duo, juniors, contemporary), seventh \u2013 Ma\u0161a Janju\u0161evi\u0107 (solo jazz seniors), eighth \u2013 jazz formation juniors; and ninth \u2013 group, contemporary, juniors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The coaches and choreographers of the national team were: Sta\u0161a Stojanovi\u0107, Nata\u0161a Gvozdenovi\u0107, Magdalena Ivanovi\u0107, Kristina Jeli\u0107, Nina Popovi\u0107, \u0110ur\u0111ina Ivankovi\u0107, Katarina Ani\u0107, Na\u0111a Luki\u0107 (all from “Dance Factory”); Tamara Popovi\u0107, Lea Abinun, Milo\u0161 Isailovi\u0107, Milica Bezmarevi\u0107, Helena \u0106elap, Nevena Kmezi\u0107, Ma\u0161a Janju\u0161evi\u0107, Nina Vuki\u0107 (all from RIS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It should also be mentioned that international judge Miodrag Kastratovi\u0107 represented Serbia on the jury and gave additional credibility to our country’s presence on the world dance scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
