In addition to speed, they measure mobile phone use and seat belt use. These are some of the mistakes we make and because of which an exceptionally large number of persons die annually, specifically just because of the seat belt, which we do not use sufficiently,&#8221; Kokovi\u0107 told TV Prva.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking about seat belt use, he pointed out that every third person\u2014as well as the driver and passenger in 85 percent of cases\u2014uses a seat belt, which, as he assessed, is insufficient because the seat belt has a very large impact on saving lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kokovi\u0107 pointed out that the belt reduces mortality by 50 percent in the front seats and up to 75 percent in the back seat, but that traffic police sanction about 150,000 drivers every year for not using a seat belt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The estimate is that somewhere more than 100 human lives would have been saved if they had used a seat belt.
