On a building in Osaka, Serbian artist Predrag Radovanovi\u0107 \u2013 Pedja Te8 painted a mural with ornamental patterns characteristic of southern Serbia and the Pirot carpet.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mural was created on a residential-business building in the Baika neighborhood, as part of an international “street gallery” in which renowned artists from all over the world, who are part of the contemporary global street art scene, participate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-The mural is based on the recognizable visual expression of Pedja Te8, with contemporary graphic structures and strong Balkan symbolism, along with discreet references to ornamental patterns characteristic of southern Serbia. For him, these elements transcend the folkloric motif and represent one of the artistic points for a contemporary, internationally readable artistic language \u2013 explain from the Urban Art Association Te8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mural in Japan was painted as part of the program of the “Wall Share” agency, one of the most significant platforms dedicated to street art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is not the first mural that this artist has painted inspired by the tradition of the Pirot carpet \u2013 he created one in the French city of Reims and named it “Sofra,” and he painted a monumental mural measuring 100 meters in length and 6 meters in height in the Czech city of Plze\u0148.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
