Former President of the Supreme Court of Montenegro Vesna Medenica was today sentenced to one year and nine months in prison, and Commercial Court judge Milica Vlahovi\u0107 Milosavljevi\u0107 to six months in prison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The indictment states that Vlahovi\u0107 Milosavljevi\u0107 committed the criminal offense of abuse of official position, while Medenica committed abuse of official position through incitement, Vijesti reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The indictment also states that Medenica, as President of the Supreme Court, influenced a Commercial Court judge to render a decision in a case in favor of her godfather Rado Arsi\u0107, to the detriment of the corporation \u201cTen,\u201d headquartered in Moscow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is a first-instance verdict delivered by Branislav Lekovi\u0107, a judge of the High Court in Podgorica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
