The court process against 12 students and activists from the organization Students Against Authoritarian Rule (STAV) and the opposition Movement of Free Citizens (PSG) begins tomorrow at the Novi Sad court. The trial starts at 9:30 a.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Citizen assemblies of Novi Sad have called for a support gathering titled \u201cNo One Is Alone\u201d in front of the courthouse at 9 a.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis is a message to all of us: be quiet or you\u2019ll be next,\u201d they said in the announcement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
PSG and STAV activists were arrested ahead of the large student and civic protest on March 15 held in Belgrade, under accusations of allegedly attempting to overthrow the constitutional order. They spent more than seven months in prison and later under house arrest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These are student Lazar Dini\u0107, activists Davor Stefanovi\u0107, Mladen Cvijeti\u0107, Sr\u0111an \u0110uri\u0107, Marija Vasi\u0107, and Lado Jovovi\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While they were in prison detention, activist Davor Stefanovi\u0107 was beaten, while professor Marija Vasi\u0107 went on a hunger and thirst strike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition to these six activists, six more STAV activists have also been charged with the alleged attempt to overthrow the constitutional order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the time of the arrests, they were abroad, where they still remain today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
