Masked individuals attacked students of the Sports Gymnasium in Belgrade yesterday using powerful firecrackers and smoke bombs. The students reported the attack to the police, who arrived at the scene, but the attackers, they say, were neither found nor prosecuted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYesterday, around four in the afternoon, two masked individuals targeted the students of the Sports Gymnasium with powerful firecrackers and smoke bombs on two occasions. For the students of the Sports Gymnasium, it is devastating that we live in a society where aggression against high school students, including minors, is considered normal,\u201d the students said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The students told the N1 portal that the attack was reported to the police immediately after it occurred, after which police officers arrived and spoke with the school principal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The attack caused distress among the students and their parents, and the students of the Sports Gymnasium hope that \u201cthe system will find the provocateurs and criminals and deliver the appropriate punishment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSo far, the two masked individuals who attacked nearly 400 students of the Sports Gymnasium have not been found or prosecuted,\u201d they stated in the announcement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The students also said that the plenary assembly of the Sports Gymnasium will continue to meet, and that this attack is an ideal example of what young people today must fight against.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe do not wish to participate in politics, nor are we interested in any political party. We are interested in how we can lead this society to respond appropriately to such an act of hatred against the future of our nation,\u201d the students of the Sports Gymnasium said in their statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
