Croatian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Ivan Anu\u0161i\u0107 stated that Croatia will not give Serbia the green light to join the European Union until the issue of missing persons from the war in Croatia is resolved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The issue of the missing and the issue of Serbia\u2019s entry into the European Union are two connected matters. It cannot happen that one state does not have bilaterally resolved open issues with another, and that the other state, in this case Croatia, gives the green light for EU accession,” Anu\u0161i\u0107 said in \u0110akovo, as reported by Croatian Radio-Television.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He emphasized that the issue of the missing is “the first and most important issue in relations between Croatia and Serbia.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We expect Serbia to fulfill its obligation,” the Croatian minister stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anu\u0161i\u0107 attended the send-off ceremony in \u0110akovo for members of the 44th Croatian contingent (HRVCON) deployed to the KFOR mission in Kosovo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
