Belgrade police arrested two security guards of a well-known restaurant in Zemun on suspicion of having inflicted grievous bodily harm on a guest, V.V. (34), in a horrific fight, who is currently fighting for his life in the hospital.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Detention for up to 48 hours was ordered for B.K. (39) and G.R. (40), and they will, as unofficially learned, most likely be held responsible for the criminal offense of inflicting grievous bodily harm. Given that the injuries are classified as life-threatening, the case was taken over by the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the first, unofficial information, the drama began due to a seemingly trivial reason – non-adherence to the prescribed dress code. The security did not allow the guest V.V. entry into the restaurant, which led to a verbal conflict that quickly moved outside the premises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The two of them beat the guest V.V. so savagely that he has serious head injuries and doctors at KBC ‘Zemun’ are fighting for his life. These are injuries that still endanger the victim’s life,” states a source close to the investigation, emphasizing that this is a suspicion of grievous bodily harm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the escalation of the conflict, as unofficially learned, V.V. at one point pulled out a knife and cut the two security guards on their arms and legs with it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This move provoked additional anger in B.K. and G.R., after which they allegedly retaliated with a far more brutal attack. They beat V.V. until he fell to the ground and lost consciousness. The injured man was urgently transferred to KBC “Zemun,” where he was immediately admitted to intensive care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The arrested B.K. and G.R. were ordered to be held in police custody for 48 hours, during which additional evidence will be collected. After the expiration of the detention, they will be brought to the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office for questioning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The prosecution will examine all circumstances, including testimonies and surveillance camera footage, in order to precisely qualify the criminal offense, also taking into account the fact that V.V. was the first to pull a knife, which could affect the elements of necessary self-defense for the suspects, but it will certainly have to be determined whether the subsequent force used by the security was an exceeding of the limits of defense, Telegraf writes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
