Serbian boxer Rastko Simi\u0107 won gold at the European Championship for U-22 and Youth in Yerevan.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the up to 80 kg category, Rastko Simi\u0107 defeated Mikhail Usov from Russia on points 4:1 in the fight for the throne and entered the history of this competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Simi\u0107 recorded three victories on his way to the title in Yerevan, one by technical knockout. Rastko Simi\u0107 also shone with victories in the quarterfinals against Moldovan Anatolie Gavriliuc and in the semifinals against Armenian Hamlet Adamian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Serbian national team member Marko Pi\u017eurica in the up to 92 kg category reached the silver medal at the European Championship in Yerevan with a 0:5 loss to Russian Vladimir Ermakov. Pi\u017eurica first defeated Luka Kvirikadze from Georgia in the quarterfinals, then in the semifinals, he achieved a triumph over Moldovan Mirab Drume in the very first round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Serbian national team members also won three bronze medals: Nikola Bogatinoski (up to 57 kg), Petar Sandi\u0107 (up to 63.5 kg) in the youth (U19) category, and in the U-22 age group Dimitrij Gorbenko (up to 63.5 kg).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the youth competition, Serbia was represented by: Nikola Maksimovi\u0107 (up to 51 kg), Filip Stanojevi\u0107 (up to 54 kg), Nikola Bogatinoski (up to 57 kg), Petar Sandi\u0107 (up to 63.5 kg), Vasilije \u0110ur\u0111evi\u0107 (up to 67 kg), Ognjen Vu\u010di\u0107evi\u0107 (up to 75 kg), \u0110or\u0111e \u0110ori\u0107 (up to 80 kg), and Veljko Risti\u0107 (up to 86 kg), Kevin Major (up to 92 kg).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Serbian men’s selection in the age group of competitors under 23 years old was represented in the capital of Armenia by Rastko Simi\u0107 (up to 80kg), Dmitrij Gorbenko (up to 63.5 kg), Filip D\u017eida (up to 67 kg), Hamza Ra\u0161ljanin (up to 71 kg), Ahmed Mavri\u0107 (up to 75 kg), and Marko Pi\u017eurica (up to 92 kg).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The professional staff of the Serbian men’s selection in Yerevan included the youth national team coach Branislav Jovi\u010di\u0107, the Cuban coach Jorge Luis Frometa, Milisav Vuk Simi\u0107, and Russian Artem Gorbenko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the medal count, Serbia has a total of 14 medals at the European Championship in the capital of Armenia (including the Serbian women’s selection), three gold, five silver, and six bronze. In the men’s competition, five medals were won, one gold and one silver, and three bronze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
