Dijana Hrka, whose son Stefan died in last year’s collapse of the canopy in front of the Railway Station in Novi Sad, received communion today in St. Mark’s Church, visibly tired and moving with difficulty.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I am well, from today everything is in God’s hands,” Hrka told a Beta reporter, with obvious effort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The priest asked that the act of communion itself not be photographed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dijana Hrka began a hunger strike last weekend, six days ago, on Sunday, November 2nd, near the National Assembly in the center of Belgrade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She demands truth and accountability for the death of her son and 15 other people in the canopy collapse, the release of all students arrested during the protests, and the calling of snap elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Groups of citizens and students, educators, high school and secondary school students, and representatives of opposition parties came to offer her support in previous days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
