Serbian President Aleksandar Vu\u010di\u0107 recently called members of the European Parliament liars and sick people, and now he has stated that Serbia could join the European Union by 2030, even though, as a candidate, it has made no progress in European integration, writes the Austrian agency APA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Austrian national news agency reports that on the evening of October 23, Vu\u010di\u0107 complained on the state television channel RTS that his country has been facing a \u201cserious hybrid war\u201d for quite some time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Vu\u010di\u0107, APA writes, \u201cdid not clearly explain what he meant by that,\u201d but it most likely refers to student and citizen protests across the country, which have been ongoing for almost a year, \u201cbecause he spoke about more than 25,000 criminal, unreported, and illegal gatherings.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
APA writes that the pressures on Serbia, which Vu\u010di\u0107 said \u201ccome from different sides,\u201d probably include the U.S. sanctions against the Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS), a subsidiary of Russia\u2019s Gazprom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, \u201cVu\u010di\u0107, who earlier this week called members of the European Parliament \u2018pathological liars\u2019 and \u2018seriously ill people\u2019 because of the new resolution on Serbia, has now assessed that there is a chance for Serbia\u2019s accession by 2030,\u201d the news agency writes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAt the same time, that candidate for EU membership (Serbia) has for years made no progress in moving closer to the EU,\u201d concludes APA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
