Saint Thomas was born in the Galilean city of Paneas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He is one of the twelve apostles and the only one among them who did not conceal his doubt about the <strong>Resurrection of Christ<\/strong>. Through this disbelief of his, for which he was named <strong>Doubting Thomas<\/strong>, Christianity received confirmation of that miraculous event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Saint Thomas became famous during his lifetime for many miracles. He preached Christianity in India, where he established a church and installed priests and bishops. Many people there accepted the Christian faith by following him. It is recorded that he was the only apostle who was late for the funeral of the Holy Mother of God. Many families in Serbia mark <strong>Tomindan<\/strong> as their <em>krsna slava<\/em> (Patron Saint&#8217;s Day).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was a skilled carpenter, so he is celebrated as a craft guild patron by carpenters, coopers, wheelwrights, joiners, rope-makers, builders, well-diggers, cobblestone-layers, and masons. In some regions, it is believed that he protects against wolves. According to folk belief, today one does not travel anywhere.
