The Minister of Culture of Serbia, Nikola Selakovi\u0107, opened the bilingual exhibition “Ivo Andri\u0107 and Italy – Documents” (Ivo Andri\u0107 e l’Italia \u2013 documenti) at the Serbian Orthodox Church Municipality in Trieste, on the occasion of 50 years since the death of the writer Ivo Andri\u0107.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Selakovi\u0107 assessed that the exhibition in Trieste is a reminder that Andri\u0107’s work “is not only a national treasure,” but also a part of European and world heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This exhibition, prepared by the Archives of Serbia, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Serbia, is not just an homage to a great writer. It is also a testimony to the lasting cultural connection between Serbia and Italy, as well as an example of how cultural diplomacy builds bridges of understanding and friendship,” Selakovi\u0107 said, as conveyed by the ministry in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before the opening of the exhibition, Selakovi\u0107 stated that the exhibition will also be presented in other cities abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
