In response to Ljubljana’s decision to ban the President of Republika Srpska (RS), Milorad Dodik, from entering Slovenia, the Government of Republika Srpska has implemented a reciprocal measure, prohibiting entry into its territory for Slovenian President Nata\u0161a Pirc Musar and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Government of Republika Srpska expressed its protest over the unilateral and politically motivated decision to impose a ban on the entry of President Milorad Dodik into the Republic of Slovenia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At today’s phone session, the Government of Republika Srpska assessed that the entry ban against the RS President was made without a clear legal basis or reason, constituting a direct interference in internal affairs and a violation of international conventions<\/strong>. They further stated that the move represents a setback in relations and the European perspective of the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“To protect the political and institutional integrity of the Republic of Srpska, the Government of Republika Srpska, in line with international practices, is implementing reciprocal measures, and thus imposing an entry ban<\/strong> into Republika Srpska on Nata\u0161a Pirc Musar, President of the Republic of Slovenia, and Tanja Fajon, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs in the Government of the Republic of Slovenia,” the RS Government announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has been instructed to prevent the named individuals from entering the territory of Republika Srpska and to escort them out of RS borders should they currently be present in the Republic of Srpska.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier today, the Slovenian Government declared President Dodik a persona non grata<\/strong> without debate and with an explanation that, according to Slovenian media, remains a “secret.”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
