The deputies of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska adopted a conclusion calling on the parties to decide whether they will participate in the snap elections for the president of Republika Srpska.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a long debate at a special session, the conclusion was adopted with 48 votes in favor and three against, with no abstentions, as reported by RTRS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The National Assembly reminds that the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, was elected by the people in democratic and free elections. With the intention of protecting the Serbian people and Republika Srpska from the harmful consequences that would arise due to a possible confrontation within Srpska and the institutions of BiH, all parties are called to independently decide on participation in the snap elections,” the conclusion states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This decision amended the conclusions adopted on August 22nd, which called on Dodik to continue performing the function of president of RS, and rejected the possibility of holding snap elections, which were scheduled for November 23rd by the BiH Central Election Commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The President of United Srpska and President of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Nenad Stevandi\u0107, previously said that this party will not run in the snap elections for the president of Republika Srpska.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stevandi\u0107 emphasized that United Srpska will not have its own candidate for president, and that the party membership will decide whom to support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

United Srpska is part of the ruling coalition in Republika Srpska, and Stevandi\u0107 points out that for him Milorad Dodik is the legal president of Republika Srpska, while Christian Schmidt is illegal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I do not have a single piece of paper saying that Dodik is not the constitutional president of Republika Srpska, I do not accept Schmidt, I do not receive his mail and I return it to him, I do not open his emails. We cannot allow the opposition to transfer the crisis from BiH to Republika Srpska, nor a divided Srpska,” Stevandi\u0107 stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He emphasized that the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) is offering a consensus to the opposition and is fairly asking the National Assembly of Republika Srpska to say whether it is possible to go to the elections or not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stevandi\u0107 reminded that the opposition publicly stated that it would go to the elections after the adoption of the assembly conclusions, with the exception of the President of the Party of Democratic Progress (PDP), Dra\u0161ko Stanivukovi\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) has carried out a campaign, because there are three groups nominating people, and we just don’t know who the candidate is yet. The opposition is immediately violating the conclusions, seeking candidates and seizing the opportunity,” Stevandi\u0107 stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He stressed that the constitutional crisis in BiH is currently unfolding on the track of the Constitutional Court of Republika Srpska \u2013 Constitutional Court of BiH, and that this was “finally understood this morning by the European Union Commissioner Marta Kos, who yesterday accused the representatives of Republika Srpska of secessionism.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stevandi\u0107 recalled that the ruling coalition had previously adopted conclusions in the Srpska parliament, three of which were annulled by the Constitutional Court of BiH, leaving 10 that it considers to be the peak of Republika Srpska’s victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It left the conclusion that the National Assembly of Republika Srpska rejects all forms of colonial administration, does not accept Christian Schmidt, rejects and does not accept the verdict of the unconstitutional BiH Court,” Stevandi\u0107 emphasized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
