Ivana \u0160panovi\u0107 ended her competition at the World Championship already in the qualifications! The Serbian athlete did not achieve the desired result in her debut at the global event in the triple jump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ivana \u0160panovi\u0107 decided not to defend the long jump champion title she won in Budapest, but instead to compete only in the triple jump in Tokyo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This season, \u0160panovi\u0107 has cleared 14 meters \u2013 she won the national title with a result of 14.43. However, in Japan she failed to surpass that mark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the first series, she achieved her best result of 13.82 meters. In the second attempt, she did significantly worse, was extremely dissatisfied with the jump \u2013 and on the official site it was recorded as a foul. In her last attempt, she landed at 13.66.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since she failed to improve her result, she remained outside the top 12, the number that, according to the rules, advances to the final. Thus, she ended her participation in the competition in Tokyo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lejanis P\u00e9rez Hern\u00e1ndez, Yulimar Rojas, Liadagmis Povea, and Thea Lafond reached the final with the qualifying mark of 14.35 meters. Also competing for medals will be Jasmine Moore, Shanieka Ricketts, Ackelia Smith, Carolina Joye, Maja Askag, Neja Filipi\u010d, and Tugba Dan\u0131\u015fmaz as the last qualifier, with exactly 14 meters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It should be noted that neither Armin Sinan\u010devi\u0107 in shot put nor Milica Garda\u0161evi\u0107 in long jump passed the qualifications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Serbia will still have three representatives \u2013 Angelina Topi\u0107 will compete in high jump qualifications on Thursday at 12:15, while Adriana Vilago\u0161 and Marija Vu\u010denovi\u0107 will fight for a spot in the javelin throw final on Friday at 12:30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
