Unknown perpetrators desecrated one of the two chapels at the Orthodox cemetery in Pristina, breaking the glass on the windows and doors.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Broken glass is scattered throughout the interior of the chapel, and dampness is visible in one part of the building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The attack on the chapel occurred despite the fact that the entrance to the cemetery is supervised by an employee of a local company for cemetery maintenance and that the large gate at the entrance to the cemetery is locked with a padlock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A bridge is being built right next to the cemetery, due to which the fence along the railway has been removed, so anyone has access to the cemetery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The chapel was also devastated before, but in recent years it has been renovated and protected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The other, newer chapel at the Orthodox cemetery in Pristina is not in a better condition either, and after 1999 it was broken into and often used as a public restroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The latest attack on the chapel at the cemetery in Pristina continued the devastation of the largest Orthodox cemetery in Kosovo and Metohija.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The previously demolished monuments can still be seen in the cemetery, and the perpetrators have never been found.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before the conflict in 1999, about 40,000 Serbs lived in Pristina, and today there are only a few.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
