A knife attack has occurred at a vocational school in Essen, Germany, and police and emergency services are already at the scene of the attack, writes the German newspaper Bild.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to information from the Bild newspaper, a student attacked a professor with a knife at an educational center in the Nordviertel district of Essen (North Rhine-Westphalia).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The stab wound was reportedly in the stomach area. The victim is seriously injured and is currently being treated. She is expected to undergo emergency surgery at a university clinic soon. It is not yet known whether her life is in danger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The perpetrator is on the run, and it is currently unclear whether he attacked any other people. Police have been on the scene since around 9:30 AM, and the building has been surrounded by heavily armed officers in protective gear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We are on-site with a strong force,” a police spokesperson stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
