Novak \u0110okovi\u0107 revealed that he talked to Bogdan Bogdanovi\u0107 and offered him help after his injury at the EuroBasket.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bogdanovi\u0107, the captain of the Serbian national team, injured his hamstring in the second round of the group stage of the European Championship and, as it turned out a few days later, finished the competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bogdan and Novak have a great friendship, so the tennis player contacted him immediately after the mishap, and it is interesting that at the time the “Eagles'” guard was not too worried.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The moment I read that he was injured, I immediately contacted him. He told me that he felt he would be fine and that it was nothing serious, but today (Sunday) I saw that unfortunately, he will not play,” \u0110okovi\u0107 told Serbian journalists in New York.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few days later, the official news arrived – the one we all, including Novak himself, were afraid of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I called him again and he told me that, unfortunately, it was a more serious injury. I gave some suggestions, ways in which he could perhaps speed up his recovery, but it seems that this cannot help this time.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Serbia is still among the main favorites for gold, but this is a big blow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“A huge mishap for our national team. He is probably my favorite basketball player of ours, we have a nice and friendly relationship. He is the captain, we all love him, huge support for him and for all the guys, of course. Knowing what he is like, he probably feels bad in this situation that he can’t be on the court. On the other hand, I believe that he will give the much-needed moral, psychological and mentoring support to all other basketball players, especially the young ones, who are in the national team and are fighting for a medal,” \u0110okovi\u0107 underlined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
