At the 18th International Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics held in Mumbai, India, students from Serbia won five medals – two silver and three bronze.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Silver was won by students of the Mathematical High School Mihailo Radovanovi\u0107 and Pavle Ignjatovi\u0107. Bronze was won by Neda \u017divanovi\u0107, a student of the Svetozar Markovi\u0107 High School from Ni\u0161, Jovan Kulezi\u0107, a student of the Mathematical High School, and Du\u0161an Lazi\u0107, a student of the High School in Kraljevo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The team leaders were Dr. Milan Stojanovi\u0107 from the Astronomical Observatory in Belgrade and Dr. Stanislav Milo\u0161evi\u0107 from the Department of Astronomy of the Faculty of Mathematics, University of Belgrade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, they won third place in the competition for the best poster. The poster was inspired by Milankovi\u0107’s calendar reform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

63 teams from all over the world competed in India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
